ABOUT ASPHALT
ASPHALT is one of the most widely used materials in construction and road paving due to its durability, flexibility, and efficiency. It is available in several types and is used in various applications depending on the nature of the project.
There are several types of ASPHALT available, each used according to the project requirements, including the Base Course, which is a strong layer used as the foundation of the road; the Binder Course, which distributes loads between layers; and the Wearing Course, which is the final layer exposed to traffic. There is also Polymer Modified Bitumen (PMB), known for its high resistance to loads and heat. Additionally, regular ASPHALT and heat-resistant ASPHALT are used depending on climatic conditions and usage, while special mixes, such as those for bicycle paths, have smooth surfaces designed for light use.
ASPHALT is used in many applications, including highways and main roads, internal streets, parking lots, pedestrian walkways, and bicycle lanes. It offers several important features that make it the optimal paving choice, such as high flexibility and its ability to absorb stresses, the capacity to withstand various loads, resistance to significant temperature changes, fast implementation, ease of maintenance, and providing a smooth and quiet driving experience. Moreover, raw materials are readily available and can be produced according to the highest standards.
ASPHALT can withstand heavy loads efficiently, especially when advanced mixtures like Polymer Modified Bitumen (PMB) are used, as they are specifically designed to resist heavy weights and prevent deformations such as rutting. It is also highly resistant to heat and various weather conditions, as special binding materials (Bitumen) and mixes are used to withstand high temperatures and climatic changes, reducing cracks and increasing road lifespan. The quality of materials used in asphalt is high, as it relies on gravel and aggregates with strong technical specifications, improved binding materials (Bitumen), adherence to international standards and specifications, and regular testing to ensure quality, durability, and long service life.
ASPHALT stands out as a reliable and versatile material due to its variety of types, wide range of uses, and strong performance under different conditions, making it a preferred choice for modern infrastructure projects and ensuring long-lasting and efficient road systems.
